For those of you who don't know what I look like I am on the right in this picture.
Who am I?
My name is Devon, I am 18 years old and I identify as female. I did dual enrollment last year but now I am a full time college student. My hobby is making things, whether it is building things or designing things on the computer to 3d print. I have three pets, a yellow Labrador and two rats.
What is my major?
When do I plan to graduate or transfer from DCCC?
I plan to Graduate in about two and a half years and then transfer to Widener
Why am I attending DCCC? (Deeper dive: What is "my why"....my intrinsic motivation for my education?)
I am attending DCCC because since I was in third grade I have wanted to invent things to help people and attending DCCC is the first step in achieving my goal.
How will I approach my learning and writing in this course?
I plan on approaching my learning and writing in this course by getting all of my assignments done a couple days before the due date so I have time to answer questions if I need to.
My Scene (written text, photos, videos are all applicable) OR My Course Legacy (how do you want to be remembered?)
Last summer, two robotics teammates and I designed an adaptive device for a five year old boy because he was born without a hand and he wanted to jump rope. We didn't meet this kid until the day we went to his school to give him the device but we made sure that the device was fully adjustable so it would last him as long as possible. Seeing him jump rope for the first time and know how happy it made him that he could do something he wasn't able to before was the most amazing thing and it made me realize I wanted to do more things like this for people. That little boy changed my life in the best way possible. If you would like more information on this click here or the My Scene.
